Snow/Cold Weather Day #5

Hey there!
Yes... you read that right! We have had Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and now tomorrow (Friday) off! Being a teacher has sooo many perks! Now I pray our students are academically growing, but I also am thankful for this unplanned break. If it wasn’t for this polar vortex, I may not have started up this blog! I am thankful for the extra time I’ve had to be with my son, especially because starting next week I will be working as a tutor after school! That will mean about 9 hours away from my son three days a week instead of the usual 8. When you throw in other commitments, I am away from my son more than I would like to be. If only things could be perfectly according to my schedule, right? Thankfully my son and I have an amazing bond, and when I’m with him without work even on my mind, it’s like I never left. Having my husband stay home with him is beautiful too, because him and I are really one flesh as much as we argue about random nonsense haha! Anyone else know what I mean? If it’s me with my son or him, I feel in a way, it’s one in the same. We are his parents. He is the product of us and God’s great love! So whether me or my husband- I feel our son is in good hands. Now as a mama though, I still need to maintain my own deep bond with my son... so these extra days off have meant so much to me.

This morning when Jairus woke up, he pointed at my eyes and said “eyes.” Tray calls it his “word of the day.” Since Jairus is a blessed child and sleeps in until 9:30am almost every day, I don’t get to hear his first word often. But today I did. It’s one of the things he does that makes him special. Tray even said he won’t even say a word to him first until he hears Jairus’s first word. Then they can really start their day. My special boys. I love them so much. Not just in word. But in action.

Well... here are some pictures of the five-day “polar vortex break.” Probably one in a lifetime! Thanks for stopping by!

Lots of love,
Jess
