Biracial/Mixed Hair Journey #3 Hair Post
Hey!
Today was another fun day in my hair journey with my son! He is currently 14 months old and his mixed hair is really coming in more a little each day. His beautiful curls are getting longer and other hair is getting thicker. There are a few products I’m still trying to get my hands on to feel my arsenal of hair care is stocked!
Today we checked out a local beauty store in our area called Lee Supply. It had just about everything... except a few brands I’m trying to find! Regardless, I was pretty happy with the prices and happy with the options! I’m trying to find more sample products since my son’s hair will likely be changing a lot, and I don’t want to commit to large sizes. I went home with a Mixed Chicks Kids Conditioner (our third Mixed Chicks products but first specifically kid’s product), Jane Carter moisturizer (her products smell sooooo good!), and a double-sided comb! I understand some Mamas don’t even comb their children’s hair because it can cause damage and breakage. They may just finger comb and then use a wet brush. Other folks only use wide-toothed combs on natural hair. Since I couldn’t find a wide-toothed toddler comb specifically, I went with what you see in the picture. Jairus will grow into it! Right now I use a baby comb and brush, and I comb the ends gently. Jairus was having fun with his new comb.
Here’s some photos of our adventure.
PS A beauty supply store is not the best idea for a very active toddler that likes to get their hands into everything. π
PPS Go on your own to a beauty store if possible. π
